3D Window and Door Visualiser

Try an aluminium window or door before we measure. Choose the type, the layout and a rough size, paint it in any of our standard Dulux colours, open it, and look at it from outside and from inside the room.

Drag to look around. Pinch or scroll to zoom.

Indicative only. Frame profiles, hardware and proportions are simplified, and a screen never shows a powder coat accurately. We confirm sizes at the measure and colours from an aluminium swatch.

How to Use the Visualiser

The visualiser is a quick way to answer the questions that are hard to settle from a brochure: would a bifold or a stacker suit this opening, how many panels look right at this width, and does a dark frame or a light one sit better against the cladding. It takes a minute, there is nothing to install, and it runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.

  1. Choose a window or door. Awning, sliding and bifold windows, and entrance, hinge, French, sliding or stacker, and bifold doors. Each one links to its own page in our range if you want the detail.
  2. Set the layout and a rough size. Pick the number of panels, then drag the width and height sliders. The sizes are a guide to proportion, not a limit on what we can make: every NuStyle window and door is made to measure in our Papatoetoe factory.
  3. Pick a colour. Our standard colours, the full Dulux Duralloy +Plus Solid Range on our colours page, are all there, and they all cost the same. Colours from other ranges are available on request. On an entrance door you can paint the door a different colour from its frame, or try one of the eight woodgrain finishes.
  4. Choose the hardware. Handles in black or colour matched to the frames, then the options that suit that product from our hardware range: how a door is locked and keyed, a smart lock on an entrance door, or a Safety or Security stay on an awning window. Hardware is small at the scale of a whole wall, so each choice is also written into the description under the options.
  5. Choose the glass. Pick clear double glazing or clear single glazing, or Low E, laminated, toughened or acoustic laminated glass. Add a grey, bronze or green tint, or try one of our obscure glasses: Cathedral, Mislite, Stippolite, Clear Etchlite and Reeded. The glass page explains what each one is for.
  6. Set the wall. Choose something close to your own cladding, because a frame colour reads very differently on white weatherboard than on red brick.
  7. Open it and walk around it. Tap Open it to see how the sashes or panels move and where they end up, drag to turn the model, and use Inside view to stand in the room.
  8. Send it to us. Get a quote for this design copies a description of what you built into the enquiry form at the foot of this page. Save image downloads a picture you can show the rest of the household or your builder.

What It Shows, and What It Does Not

The model is a sketch. It is good at type, layout, proportion and colour, which are the decisions people most often change their minds about. It shows which way an awning window pushes out, how far a bifold door stacks, and how much of the opening a stacker door leaves clear.

It is not a shop drawing. The frame sections are simplified, the handles are indicative, and it does not know your wind zone, your lintel or your floor level, all of which shape what we actually make. It also cannot show colour exactly. A screen makes its own light and a powder coat reflects the light around it, so the same colour looks different on every device and different again on the wall. Dulux supplies physical swatches of its powder coat colour range for the same reason, and we bring aluminium swatches to the measure.

From a Sketch to a Quote

When you send a design, we treat it as the start of the conversation. We ring to arrange a free measure, or price from your plans if it is a new build, and we talk through the things the model cannot: which glass each room needs, thermally broken frames, the exact handle and lock models, and which way each sash should open for the way you use the room. A quote usually follows within a few days, a week at most.

Visualiser Questions

Does the visualiser work on a phone?

Yes. It runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer with nothing to install. On a phone, drag with one finger to turn the model and pinch to zoom; the model stays at the top of the screen while you scroll through the options beneath it.

Are the colours accurate?

They are a guide. The swatches use Dulux's own screen colours for its Duralloy +Plus Solid Range, but every screen shows colour differently and the lighting in the model is not the light on your wall. Shortlist two or three here, then ask us for aluminium swatches and look at them outside, against the cladding.

Can you make a size or layout the visualiser does not offer?

Almost certainly. The sliders cover common sizes so the model stays in proportion. Everything we make is made to measure, and there are layouts, such as corner bifolds and windows built into a sliding door, that the visualiser does not draw. Tell us what you have in mind.

What happens when I send my design?

A short description of it, the type, layout, approximate size, colour, glass and hardware, is added to the enquiry form on this page. Nothing is sent until you fill in your details and submit the form. We then get in touch to arrange a free measure and quote.

What happened to the View in Home AR tool?

Our earlier augmented reality tool showed one entrance door and only worked on some phones. This visualiser replaces it: it covers windows as well as doors, lets you change the layout, size and colour, and works on any modern phone or computer.
