Aluminium Entrance Doors
Aluminium entrance doors combine durability with modern style. They resist corrosion, need almost no maintenance and keep their sleek look for decades, and ours come in a Classic and a Contemporary range, any colour, and with hardware up to an app-controlled smart lock.
Two Ranges, Endless Combinations
Our Classic range features clean, symmetrical designs that suit both modern and traditional homes. With elegant panel layouts and a focus on balance and simplicity, these doors offer a timeless look that complements any entrance: two, four, six and eight-panel layouts, with or without glazed panels, as a single door or a pair.
The Contemporary range showcases bold, modern designs with clean lines, creative panel layouts and sleek finishes. Full-height glazed strips, offset vertical lights, horizontal grooves and flush panels bring a fresh, architectural look to today's design-forward homes. The teal double door on our Dannemora project, with its vertical sidelights and long black pull handles, is from this range.
Both ranges are shown in the brochure, and other designs and variations are available on request. Sidelights, top lights and a matching screen door can all be built into the one frame.
Colour and Woodgrain
The door and frame are powder coated in any of our standard Dulux colours on the colours page, so a front door can match the joinery or make a statement against it. For the warmth of timber without the upkeep, eight woodgrain finishes are available: Dark and Light Bean, Dark and Light Cedar, Dark and Light Cherry, and Dark and Light Riverwood. A wood finish on an aluminium door offers the timeless beauty of natural wood and the unmatched strength of aluminium, with style, function and low maintenance in one.
Hardware and Smart Locks
Every entrance door comes with multipoint locking. The Yale Apex lever set comes with a two-point or a four-point lock, a solid, proven locking solution for a front door. For keyless entry we fit the Yale Assure smart deadbolt with a pull handle, with app control, auto-unlock and integration options; the Yale SYDM3109, which opens with a PIN code or an RFID card or tag; or the Sylvan SL41E digital keypad lock. Keying can be key both sides, key outside and turn knob inside, or turn knob only. More on the hardware page.
Glass, Security and Weather
Glazed panels have the option of double or single glazing and can be obscure (Stippolite or Etchlite are the usual choices for a front door) or laminated to cut noise - see the glass page. The door seals against the frame on all four sides, and a thermally broken frame keeps the hallway warm. For a screen you can leave the door open behind, see security doors. Replacing an Old Front Door
A new entrance door usually goes into the existing opening. We measure the frame, make the door to suit, and our installers fit it in a morning. New locks can come keyed alike, or keyed differently if required; matching them to the keys you already have is a job for a locksmith. See window and door replacement for how the day runs.

Bean, Cedar, Cherry and Riverwood, each in a dark and a light tone. Ask for a sample and view it in natural light; a screen never shows a finish accurately.

Entrance Door Questions
Can I have a double door or a door with sidelights?
Yes. Pairs of doors, sidelights on one or both sides and a top light are all built into the one frame. The Dannemora project is a double door with a sidelight each side.
Will a smart lock work with my phone?
The Yale Assure is app-controlled and can auto-unlock as you arrive, with integration options for home systems. The SYDM3109 uses a PIN or an RFID tag, and the Sylvan SL41E a keypad.
Does a woodgrain finish need oiling like timber?
No. It is a powder coat finish on aluminium, cared for the same way as any other colour: a wash with mild detergent every few months. See the maintenance guide.
Can you match a colour I already have on the house?
Usually, from our standard Dulux range or from another Dulux range on request. Bring us a sample or a photo and we will provide an aluminium swatch to check in daylight before you confirm.
